Activities & Things To Do

Lane Cove Holiday Park is an ideal base from which to get out and about in nature and with a whole swag of outdoor activities to choose from there’s really something for everyone. The neighbouring National Park is a playground for active travellers who are keen to discover the natural and heritage attractions of the area, or just enjoy the wellbeing-boost of getting involved in outdoor activities and exercise.

There are great options for solo travellers, couples, families and friends, with around 250 hikes and bushwalks of various grades, running routes and cycling and mountain bike trails. A Heritage Walk offers insight to the region’s history and Aboriginal heritage, while longer walks explore the tranquil Lane Cove River, and the protected bushland spanning the park’s 372 hectares. There’s a chance to spot wildlife - from the impressive spotted goanna or a spiny water dragon to kookaburras and even an echidna - and wildflowers which bloom around the park year-round.

The Lane Cove River which runs through the valley is a fun spot to take on water-based adventures, with kayaking, canoeing or stand-up paddle boarding guaranteed as a fun way to spend a morning or afternoon. The Lane Cove Boatshed hires boats and boards by the hour, making water activities accessible to everyone.

Picnic and barbecue areas are found right throughout the park, so travellers can refuel and relax – or set up camp and spend an easy afternoon in nature. It’s a chance to enjoy lunch outdoors, perhaps relax with a book, fly kites, play outdoor games like hide-and-seek, throw a frisbee or pass a football, or set off on a bushwalk.

The Lane Cove Holiday Park offers its own activities for guests, with the pool a great option for cooling off and plenty of safe recreation space for families, friends and couples to enjoy time outdoors together.
